Not Favor Sex after Rahim Appointed? It's Just a Myth

Hysterectomy
Hysterectomy is a procedure that is usually applied hysterectomy in women with uterine fibroids, cancer, endometriosis, and abnormal bleeding or cysts in the uterine wall. Because the condition affects the reproductive organs, this procedure inevitably have a significant impact on physical and emotional condition of women undergoing hysterectomy.

Because hysterectomy also has long been associated with side effects such as hormonal imbalances and decreased sexual desire. As a result, many women who refuse when offered this procedure and increasingly suffer from diseases diidapnya.

Lucky number of studies have shown that women need not be afraid to undergo the hysterectomy procedure. In fact, many female patients who claimed his sex life has improved since undergoing hysterectomy.

One is a study conducted in 1999 and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. This study looked at sexual function more than 1,000 women aged between 35-49 years who have had a hysterectomy. 90 Percent of participants has not entered menopause when the study began.

Then each participant was observed for two years post-surgery and the results surprised the researchers. According to a team of researchers from the University of Maryland Medical Center where the study was conducted revealed that participants experienced an increase in sexual activity after surgery, rather the number of participants who have sex at least five times a month increased to as much as 10 percent.

In addition, 72 percent of participants postoperative said they could get an orgasm when having sex, but before surgery only 63 percent of participants were able to experience it. Even the number of participants who claimed to have a powerful orgasm increased from just 45 percent before to 57 percent after hysterectomy surgery.

No less surprising, the researchers found that participants who experience pain during sexual intercourse dropped from 40 percent before surgery to just 15 percent two years after surgery.

However, as reported by FoxNews, Thursday (03/14/2013), the researchers also found a number of participants who experienced the negative impact of hysterectomy on sexual health. It's just that most of the participants reported experiencing just the opposite.

One of the reported side effects are decreased orgasm that was associated with loss of cervical participants. Even so, there is never any research that proves that the loss of the cervix can affect sexual arousal. There is speculation vaginal orgasm may be reduced but the orgasm due to clitoral stimulation seems to be so affected.

But it does not mean a hysterectomy may be an alternative to sex therapy. Because many scientists agree that hysterectomy should only be considered when all other treatment options for patients not immune to it.

Fortunate side effect of hysterectomy on sexual function can be overcome by hormonal therapy. Side effects of the procedure itself is almost similar to the symptoms of menopause such as imbalance of estrogen, progesterone and testesterone leading to decreased sexual function. With hormone therapy, these side effects can be recovered safely and effectively.

Moreover, a study in 2012 revealed the fact that the combination therapy bioidentical progesterone and bioidentical estrogen may provide the best results in restoring sexual function of women who experience menopausal symptoms, including increased lubrication, arousal and sexual desire, orgasm, and decreased pain during sexual intercourse.

Not to mention the best news is hysterectomy patients tend to give the best response to hormone therapy.
